If you enjoyed my sea inspired background from yesterday's post You, Me, And the Sea, you may like my project today as well. I loved how easy the background was to create and thought why not use a Sassy & Crafty image with that beautiful stencil from the same company.
As with the Ponyo card from yesterday, I started with a top-folding blue notecard. I used a slightly darker blue for this card. I inked the Mermaid Tails Stencil with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink**, leaving the top third of the card alone. After removing the stencil, I came back with Blueprint Sketch and inked from the bottom up to create an ombre look. You could also do that step first and then stencil. For the look of sea spray and bubbles, I spritzed the panel with Dina Wakley's White Gloss spray** (my fav) and then with Goosebumps, a clear glossy texture spray. The latter adds such amazing wetness to my projects! It's like have a really loose glossy gel medium in a spray bottle. (I couldnt' find the regular Goosebumps on Amazon, but here is the Shimmer version that I had no idea existed.)
Can you see the water droplets? To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment "Shell-o" in VersaFine Clair ink, adhered the crab and mermaid from the same set Salty But Sweet with foam tape, and added matte enamel dots. I love it (and hope you do as well)!
