I created three projects using these two rockin' dudes. All have elements that can be removed from the card! So fun, right? Well, the earrings, obviously.. but the others are a fun surprise.
My followers know I love to play with shrink plastic! (For a tutorial on working with shrink plastic and supplies with links, be sure to read my blog post HERE.) I couldn't resist turning these two into a pair of earrings! So, naturally, I needed to come up with a fun way to display them and thought putting them on TV may work. ;) I used a retired My Favorite Things Die-namics die for the television, and the Mama Elephant Treat Bag die for the bag itself.
Would you believe that these two are clips?! The clip back slips into the panel on the card front as shown below.
See that wee cut in the bottom of the couch? The clip slips right in there and is bulk free since the clip is surrounded by foam tape on the mounted panel! SWEET! I colored and laminated the two and then hot glued on the clips AFTER roughing up the surface first with my Slice cutter.
This is what the back panel looked like before being mounted to the card front. The two slits are more visible now. I did need to leave spaces for the clip, making sure my foam tape didn't cover those areas.
How could I not make a card like this one? lol Our friend in the black tee is a magnet! And, he is attached to the card front with a magnet! (Why had I not thought to do that until now..)
I always have issues getting slick surfaces to adhere to my cards in a temporary fashion, so that was the perfect solution! I always make sure to align my magnets stuck together to make sure the polarity is right, otherwise they sit offset sometimes and I wanted to assure that my "Party on!" guy would stay where he was told.
The Kindred Stamps team, myself included, hope that you've enjoyed reading about my card makes for this release. If you would like an opportunity to win shop credit, please go and comment on everyone's blog post! One random winner will win a $10 shop credit, and they will be contacted privately and announced in our Kindred Stamps Fan Club on Facebook!
Until next time.. stay excellent!
