Welcome to the Catherine Pooler Designs x Pear Blossom Press Collab Hop! We're sharing fun, interactive cards that will really brighten your day. They feature awesome new stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs, and with help from Pear Blossom Press, they all really light up!  Be sure to hop along with us for loads of inspiration; our designers have come up with some brilliant cards...

I was instantly drawn to the adorable light bulb with heart filament and sentiment "you make my heart glow".  So, I began thinking of how I wanted to design the card to have that particular light bulb shine.  The final design was not where my initial idea began (goodness knows that happens) but I adore the sweet, simple final result.  I do love CAS (clean and simple) card designs and there is no reason an interactive light up card can't fit into that category too.

First, I heat embossed the light bulb onto vellum with Polished ink.  The ink remained wet enough on the vellum to add clear embossing powder and heat.  I cut a second bulb with the coordinating dies to layer behind the bulb as an extra layer to filter the light.  I inked around the heart opening on the card panel with Shea Butter and on the card base behind where the vellum bulb would be.  Then, using Polished again, I inked around the warm yellow Shea Butter, extending the pink so it would peek just around the edge of stitched top panel (once adhered).

Next, I taped on the EZ Lights.  With a double layer of vellum, the tiny LED lights were less visible behind the light bulb.  I wanted to make sure the glow came from the bulb itself and not from above.

As seen from the bottom.  I positioned the button under the word "glow".

The final step was addition of Narrow Double Thick Foam Tape behind the front panel.  The foam tape layered easily over the wires if necessary without making it too bulky.

I used PBP Gel Pens to add silver on the light bulb base and gold glow lines around the sentiment and hanging bulb and a touch of gold atop the stamped words "heart glow".

Push "glow" and voila!  I hope you enjoyed my rather simple design and find amazing inspiration with the other talented designers below.
