I am so excited to participate as a Guest Designer for Crafty Doodle Chick's newest April card challenge!
I was selected as a Paw-Fect Pup by the CDC designers for my submission for the March challenge (you can read that blog HERE). I even got this awesome badge to share! :)
The theme for April is Rainbow. I don't know many people that don't like a rainbow--so full of color and wonder. And they always make me smile. So instead of using an actual rainbow, I chose to ink blend a rainbow for my background using Distress Inks--Festive Berries, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, and Seedless Preserves. For interest, I cut my rainbow panel into 3 sections. I selected Neat & Tangled's stamp set Better Together for the images and after determining placement, colored two of the three kids' clothes to match the rainbow colors they would be standing in front of. I stamped the "hello" sentiment on the bottom left rainbow panel in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and white embossed the smaller portion "Let's Hang Out" onto black cardstock. I layered the black panel just over the bottom of the "hello" using multi matte medium. Next, I adhered my rainbow panels with foam tape to the front of my white top-folding card base then glued the characters and heart. For added fun and to play further on the rainbow theme, I used some Verve Stamps sequins from my stash to embellish the card front, matching the colors of sequins to the background color.
Don't forget to check out this fun Paw-Fect Challenge: Rainbows on the Crafty Doodle Chick Chat and Create Facebook group! I can't wait to see what you create!
Until next time.. xo
