I'm honored to be guest designing with A Colorful Life Designs for the month of February. I seriously had a blast playing with inks, pastes, and paints with their stencils. They have a massive catalog of stencils and I must confess that my wishlist on their site is rather massive. :) Today I'm sharing my first card, celebrating the Year of the Fire Horse. The Lunar New Year is this Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

I began by blending distress oxide inks through the stencil onto a black card panel, working my way up the panel from red to orange then yellow. Then, I used a blending sponge to work the gold paint into areas of the stencil, not the entire surface. After that dried, I worked the gold around the perimeter of the card panel.
I created the beautiful fire horse using reds and gold, layering the deeper red and gold for the mane and tail. I fluffed up the mane and tail pieces a bit to add more dimension and adhered to the stenciled panel with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped first in black and then in gold (it adds just a bit of shimmer in person). After fussy cutting the sentiment panel, I attached flat to the card panel and added a scattering of flat gold sequins. I layered a darker red panel behind the black stenciled panel and adhered to a top-folding card base.
