It is Thursday and time for another share with Witt & Sass Stamp Company! This week the team is featuring Tropical Party, a super fun Carmen Miranda flamingo and fun summer icons.
All I could think about were fun ways to do pops of pink, green, and white. For my first card, I pulled an all-out 80s vibe, with bold pops of black and white, pink and green. I thought it would be fun to paper piece our flamingo, fussy cutting the beak, eye, and fruit crown from colored white paper over our floral bird.
A super awesome crafty friend (Taasha!!) sent me this awesome tropical leaf ribbon, that I tucked under a flamingo clip (oh yes, oh yes) and down the side of the card front. For extra 80s flair, I stamped the bold geometric print onto a scrap of white cardstock with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I sliced the strip down the center, splitting the print in half, and added to the card like strips of washi tape. The flamingo paper was from my stash.
Zing embossing powder has the funkiest fluorescent powders. They aren't great at fine detail, but they are fabulous at adding pops of color.
My second card features some of the fun summer icons--pineapple, flip flops, and a fancy mixed drink. I Copic colored the images and fussy cut them out, adding them to tiny tags cut from that same fun floral patterned paper seen on the flamingo. (It is fun to tie cards together I think.)
The background was made using the Layered Stencil Leaves and a fun watercolor green foil. I added Deco Foil Transfer Gel to the large leaf image and allowed to dry, then ran it through my laminator with the foil. To assemble, I strung up the tags on ribbon, stamped my sentiment and added some stamped and colored leaves.

My favorite summer activity? HMMMMM??? Well I guess I would have to say going to visit my older son and his wife for a week during the summer? I am in California and they are in Oregon! Also I just want to say that your cards are AMAZING! I f I were to win the card I wouldn’t send it to anyone instead I would put it on my craft table so I can enjoy it and be inspired by such creativity as yours is!!!
