Today I'm sharing a pair of floral cards using the Spellbinders January 2026 release The Poet's Garden by Susan Tierney-Cockburn . (Affiliate links are used throughout at no additional cost to you. I pulled a 3D embossing folder and dies from last October's Beautifully Imperfect Collection to embellish my cards. I love how they lean into the organic feel that these shaped flowers provide. For my violets, I embossed a panel of kraft cardstock then lightly inked the raised design with white pigment ink.
I die cut the violets from a light purple paper, then colored with OLO Markers to add depth - V4.1 and V2.4.
For the adorable flower centers, I glued a seed bead then colored with a warm yellow alcohol marker (since I only found an ivory colored bead in my stash).
For the background on my Clematis card, I embossed a white panel then inked the raised design with gold pigment ink, blending the gold ink as well as Vintage Photo in various spots on the card panel to add interest.
Now, don't laugh. I do not have fancy flower shaping tool kit (but think it would be very handy to have). BUT, I wanted to share that you can still create beautiful flowers using items you may find already at home (namely, your kitchen drawers). I used the ball end of this nutcracker over a plush blanket (for the needed mushy give) to shape and ruffle the clematis petals. Don't they look great?
I love that the Tangled Threads Etched Dies S4-1481 creates a beautiful vine look for this "queen of climbers". Do you have a favorite?
