Hello Hollowers! I'm joining you today with a fun, quick AMAZING way to use the Diamond Plate background stamp found in The Hedgehog Hollow June kit. I am also sharing the card I made using the background created.
Step 1: Using my large Nuvo glue pen, I covered the entire surface of an A2 sized card front (4.25" x 5.5").
Step 2: After letting it dry until the glue turned from white to transparent, I added Nuvo Gilding Flakes in Silver Boullion, burnishing the surface after all of the loose flakes were wiped clear. (I did all of this in an old HH box to help contain the flakes; the gilding flakes live there now awaiting my next project.)
Step 3: After dusting the card front with my powder tool, stamp the Diamond Plate background stamp onto the gilded cardstock using VersaMark embossing ink, or any embossing ink you prefer.
I then embossed the image with Hero Arts Platinum embossing powder.
Step 4: Sit back and watch people "oooh" and "ahh". :)
The result is metallic, shiny, and somewhat grunge. I think it is perfect! You could add more grunge using some distress ink in places, but I chose to use it as is.
For the card, I used a truck stamp from my stash, stamping it using three different colors of distress ink for a vintage feel. The sentiment was stamped on scrap cardboard and the edges torn to further play into the distressed feel. I trimmed my diamond plate background down, fussy cut out the vintage truck and mounted everything on a top-folding notecard. Easy, right?
I hope you found this tutorial fun and easy. You could surely use any silver toned embossing powder you have for this, or create a whole new look using gold or copper! Until next time.. xo
