Happy FriYAY!! It's time for another fun share for The Hedgehog Hollow's July kit, featuring Sunny Studio! Since everyone seemed to love the idea of doubling your images function, I have decided to create a planner or bookmark clip in today's share. I also did some masking on the girl in the ring float, removing the float so that she could be popping out of the sand instead. For the beach umbrella, I used a Sunny Studio set in my stash, Rain or Shine.
I inked up my back panel with Distress Ink, and cut the sand from a scrap of paper using a hillside die. Following the idea of one of my fellow designers, I coated my sand piece with the included Nuvo Glitter Accents in Harvest Moon for some sparkle. I laminated the standing girl, scratched the laminate behind the image where the paperclip would be attached (this is necessary to get the glue to grab), then hot glued my paper clip.
The sand panel was attached to the inked panel with foam tape, leaving a space for the paperclip to be slide behind, as seen above. The clip is snug in place with a single layer of foam adhesive. The paper does "bow" out a bit, but that didn't bother me. You could always attach the paperclip to the sand using the clip itself so the recipient knows without a doubt the awesome bonus!
Since most people having been using the "rainbow" word die, well, as it is intended, I wanted to show how fun it would be to use the negative space. I cut a panel from one of the super colorful rainbow sheets in the kit and die cut the "rainbow" word from the center. After determining placement, I stamped "Wishing you a" above where the negative panel would attach, and "kind of day" beneath. I love build able sentiments so much; they really expand the ability to create so many more sentiments! For added dimension, I mounted the rainbow panel onto the card panel with foam adhesive. And that is it!
Look at the wonderful shadow created within the negative space! I love it!
