Today I'm sharing a pair of purrfectly adorable cat cards using the Spellbinders January 2026 release Sending Hugs Collection by Simon Hurley. I pulled out the beautiful Star Bright Stencil for both card bases, which adds a really fun bit of whimsy and bright pop of color. Besides, stars fit the themes I think.

I created this card for my daughter's graduation from Intermediate school this spring. Their school mascot is an alligator and the cat was created to resemble our outdoor cat French Fry (aka Mr Stinky). I used the same die cut for the grey patch on his head, just flipping to use over the left ear. I also moved his side patches up to better resemble where his color splotches are. He's such a chunky boy! The layered circles are one you will see again next month with the bear (so be on the look out).
This cutie was created to match my sweet Eva who will celebrate her sweet 16 this March. She's my best buddy! She has a spot on her lip so I die cut the colored paper from the muzzle piece and trimmed to match her spot. The bow and party hat are both from the companion die set Birthday Bear Etched Dies by Simon Hurley S5-732. She is happily celebrating her birthday atop a star embossed oval, lightly inked in blue, and she looks super ready for her birthday treats.
