Today I have a festive collection of holiday projects featuring goodies from the Home For the Holidays Collection and Handmade Holidays Kit and Add-Ons Collection from Spellbinders Paper Arts. I even brought back the gnome from the Out & About Collection, turning him into the cutest little elf! (Affiliate links used throughout; thank you for your support!)
All of the backgrounds were created with BetterPress plates. I hesitated purchasing the BetterPress Letterpress System but am seriously happy I finally caved. I also run my plate through a second time (with whatever residual "shadow" ink is left) to create the lighter backgrounds too! Bonus!
Supplies used:
Garden Buddies S3-513
Delivering Joy Sleigh S4-1358
Winter Rose Background BetterPress and Stencil Bundle BD-0879
Handmade Sentiments S1-156
Sending Joy Sentiments BP-204
I created this card background using the shadow pressed layer of the Winter Rose Background, inking the background with the stencils using Saltwater Taffy, Festive Berries, Shabby Shutters, and Pine Needles Distress Oxide inks.
I am in love with this little gnomie elf!! I modified the gnome using the elements seen above. I left off the beard and trimmed down the nose so it wasn't so large on his beardless face. I die cut his hat from green and a small strip from yellow. I trimmed a bit off the side of the hat so it would sit atop his head better. Then, I die cut his mustache from kraft, split the sections, and tucked the pieces under the sides of his hat for hair. For the feather in his hat, I die cut the tip of the bird's tail feather from red and tucked into the yellow band on his hat. I colored some rosy cheeks and drew a (somewhat lopsided) smile.
I think this card looks so lovely -- I love pink and red together and the richness of the red and kraft. While not captured in the picture, I did spritz both card backgrounds with gold shimmer mist. The holly leaves and berries are from Delivering Joy Sleigh.

I used white pigment ink on kraft cardstock for the card above. I think it has such a rustic feel.
Gold pigment ink gives this card such a warm sheen. The cutie bird from Garden Buddies was a fun addition, sitting atop that evergreen branch holding his piece of ribbon.
I think I prefer this shadow pressed layer of the pines -- such a soft effect. Compared to the more playful sleigh card above, this one is a bit more classy, in ivory, red, and gold. A couple evergreen boughs tucked amongst the gifts breaks up the color a bit and fits in with the pines in the background.
I hope you enjoyed my fun collection. As you can see, I do love kraft for the holidays too (apparently). xx
