I decided to play along in Jaded Blossom's August Monthly Challenge. The theme this month is to follow a sketch.

I took a few liberties with my cards, but did follow the basic layout (without the added ribbon or strip). Instead of a center panel, I used a non-traditional blue pumpkin. I LOVE heirloom pumpkins!! I spritzed them with gold gloss spray and then lightly inked the bottoms. I decided to use the same pastel blue for the card base, grounding the top panels with kraft. Two of the cards have the scalloped panel behind the stenciled sunflowers and two have it on top (as intended) to frame the top panel. I love both. I couldn't resist adding the crow (I love crows) and tossed in the sunflower for another pop of color and to align with the floral element in the sketch. I did partially die cut the stitched sentiment panel so it better fit the sentiment. Partially die cutting is super easy -- the die fits back in so nicely to the stitched groves of the first pass that I have never had an issue using this technique (and I use it often).
