I finally got the chance to play with Sticker Kitten's Mermaid Treasures collection kit. I adore the sweet mermaid images and all of the fun papers and ephemera. For Father's Day this year, I created a page in this handmade book. I made it 5 years ago and have only managed the Father's Day entry the year I made it (face palm), but that will change. (I truly mean that.. lol)
I created an ocean background by tearing strips of fishy background paper and sandy sea floor from various papers in the collection. I used the die cut ephemera for the merman dad and two mer-daughters, adding colored pencil to alter their swim tops and hair color. I didn't want the two girls to be identical since they are representative of my two daughters. For the little fish, I added some simple color to the white die cut pieces to make them stand out a bit more. I stamped the "You are Mermazing" sentiment onto the page bottom, adding some colored pencil for fun detail. The "Tati" (Romanian for "daddy") was created with glittery alpha stickers from my stash. My girls were too excited to await this Sunday and already revealed the page to my husband. He actually really liked it much to their (and my own) delight.
Stay tuned, I'll be sharing a sweet little pillow box using a couple of the stamps soon. Squishy hugs!
