Rianna of RiCre8s and I are rolling out our March stamp battle in time for Easter! Since we live on opposite sides of the globe, we settled upon using a digital stamp this month. I had recently discovered the adorable digital images from Isabel Cristina (Etsy shop HERE). Her characters are so adorable!! Surprisingly, though, we both fell in love with her Easter Bella digital freebie (yup, free!!) available on her blog HERE.
I printed my images with my inkjet printer and colored with Copic markers. I decided to add some fun details with my Copic Multiliner pens--gloves, belt, and socks. To create the top of her dress, I layered stripes in my mid and dark purple tones. I wanted to give the illusion of satin with the color and highlight. I have also been playing with added finer details on faces and added some little knees. After I was done, I fussy cut out the images.
To create a fun egg dyed background, I smudged purple and blue/indigo acrylic paints around on some cardstock along with a sprinkling of Pearl Ex powdered pigment in Misty Lavender.
It is hard to capture, but there is a slight sheen throughout the background with a speckling of pigment in spots. I really think it is lovely.
I followed the sketch challenge in the Stampers Swap group on Facebook for my card layout. I created the bunny background using the Echo Park Chocolate Bunny Stencil and Walnut Stain Distress Ink. To add texture, I cut a strip of burlap/lace trim and adhered to the left side with Scor-Tape. I cut a larger background oval using my cross stitch oval dies from my purple/blue background paper. To help mute the colors a bit, I cut the next size down from vellum to layer over the background oval, also cutting a "lawn" from green plaid paper from Lawn Fawn's last release. I added foam tape to the back of the right side of the oval to compensate for the height created by the burlap trim on the left side of the card front. Next, I glued all three chicks and the one egg down flat and added foam tape behind our adorable Easter Bella. I wavered on whether to add a sentiment and, in the end, decided against it.
Thank you for tagging along! Don't forget to see what amazingness Ri created using this same sweet Easter Bella digital stamp on her blog HERE!!
Until next time.. xo
