I'm so excited to share a trio of projects I created using two newly released stamp sets from Spellbinders Paper Arts (affiliate link). I played with new background stamp Windy Sky to create an awesome ocean background paired with Singing Mermaids from Stamp Camp by Jane Davenport. I watercolored the mermaid duo with watercolor pencils. I carefully stamped the music notes onto the card base, wiping away the excess ink as much as possible (even though I knew it would essentially be covered by the mermaids later). I fussy cut the mermaids and popped up, matching them up to beautiful siren song (aka, music notes).
I inked the Windy Sky background stamp in an unconventional way and really love how evenly the ink coverage was (and how easily I could control the color intensity).
I inked the stamp with a blending brush and distress oxide ink. The size of the stamp creates the perfect no-layer matting -- you could always stamp and trim to mat over a card base, but I love that I don't have to do that either. I also love that I can use magnets to hold my paper down when stamping it. (Small bonus, but you guys know it's helpful. LOL)
For my next pair of cards, I used the Love Block Clear Stamp Set to create a slimline card and standard A2 sized card perfect for Mother's Day. I embossed the beautiful floral love letters and extra sentiment bits in gold and colored with Spectrum Noir TriBlend alcohol markers.
I created a simple A2 sized card for my first project, layering a soft pink behind the fussy-cut out LOVE. I overlapped the extra sentiment "ALL MY" and added Gold Fleck Gemstones from the Feeling Hoppy card kit.
For my final project, I created a taller slimline card -- 4" x 8.5". I used patterned paper from the Feeling Hoppy card kit and adorable bunny dies from Basket Full of Bunnies (Large DOTM March 2020). I added flowers by their ears, tucked a bunch of flowers in the larger bunny's paw, and the extra sentiment bit "YOU" as a sign held by the smaller bunny. Aren't they just so cute?! I thought of my two girls when I made this last one. (The smaller A2 sized card is being sent to my mom for Mother's Day. xx)
