Hello everyone! Just a quick share of the fun I had with one of the newer Kindred Stamps sets called Lovebugs. These three little bug girls and their bug companions are perfect for sending someone a smile. The sentiments are clever and sweet and, honestly, can these little love bugs be any cuter?!
I am not sharing a Coloring Guide for this set since they really can be colored numerous ways. For example, I mistakenly colored the spotted bodied girl as a lady bug first, before realizing she was more likely the butterfly girl. BUT, that also shows some versatility in the images too!
This first card includes all three girls with a mixture of sequins as well as an adorable ladybug from the new Ladybugs Shaker Pack. The "dirt" ground was achieved by carefully tearing a piece of brown cardboard. The postcard image in the background was from my stash and was distressed with distress ink.
A special fan received this card. (She doesn't know it yet.)
The next card is so colorful and fun!
I found this beautiful floral vellum in my stash, which made the perfect backdrop for this shaker card. I used Tonic Studios Circle Bauble Die and Blister Set 1811e for the center of the flower, layering scalloped ovals to create the flower's petals. I used the included circle die from the Tonic set to then cut out the center of the flower, after gluing the petals into the flower shape. I used the same included circle die to cut out a black center for the back of the shaker window. I embossed the sentiment in white and (so easily) assembled the shaker window, filling with the new Lady Bugs Sequin mix from Kindred Stamps.
For my final card, I created another shaker using the awesome Queen and Company Butterfly Shaker Shape Kit (includes the dies, foam, and acetate all in one kit!).
I colored the pieces of the butterfly shaker the same as my butterfly lovebug and her trio of butterflies. I wanted the colors to be soft and bright, using cool lavender, sunny yellow, and melon. I added a couple Altenew Build-A-Flower Peony flowers to the sentiment panel, with dots of clear Nuvo Crystal Drops in their centers. I filled the butterfly shaker with the beautiful organza butterfly confetti from Tonic Studios Nuvo 4 pack of Pure Sheen Confetti in Peacock Feathers (Tonic; Scrapbook.com), and glued a handful of them on the card front as well. That amazing background paper I was happy to find in my stash.
I think this last card may be my favorite because I love the softness of the colors, but I do love the top two as well!
Which card is your favorite? Have you played with shaker window sets like these before? I must admit, I really love the ease of use, and the shapes that Queen & Co. has available in shaker kits--cupcakes, hearts, magical mouse ears, and more.
Thanks for joining me! I will be sharing Tea with Friends on my next Kindred Stamps post! Until then.. xo
