Kindred Stamps: Lifesavers

Welcome to the September release with Kindred Stamps.  Today I am sharing my inspiration using Lifesavers.  This set is not only perfect for those in the medical profession, but perfect to use for get well wishes and even in planners for medical appointments.

My first card is CAS (clean and simple) and utilizes the beautiful scripted sentiment "you're my person".  I scribbled a rainbow of color using my Spectrum Noir Aqua markers onto a piece of heavy weight watercolor card then embossed the sentiment over it with clear embossing powder.  I then die cut the sentiment with a circle die from my stash.  To make the sentiment pop, I merely covered the entire circle with Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink, buffing the ink from the clear embossed sentiment.  Voila!  To complete the card, I debossed the Swirl Stencil onto a piece of white cardstock, adhered the sentiment with foam dots, and added a few Galaxy sequins.

My second project is also CAS in design.  I stamped the various scrub-clad characters over a piece of white card, added the syringe in the open spaces.  Then, I simply water colored the scrubs blue and added red to the syringes.  The sentiment was embossed in white on a piece of scrap black card and popped up with foam dots.  This panel was then mounted atop a black notecard.

My final card took a bit of work, but not terribly long.  The tricky part was figuring out how to arrange the wreath of medical supplies/images around our dreamy doctor figure.  I curved the stethoscope image a bit and filled in the gaps with the syringe and pill.  I stamped and watercolored the bandaids to adhere behind our doctor panel.  For interest, I partially inked the stencil and finished the card with the sentiment.

  • Super fun cards! The first one reminds me of coloring a piece of paper with crayons, covering it with black crayon and the scratching a picture into the black so the color shows through. I love it.
