How adorable is the Fresh Squeezed set from Kindred Stamps? I got to the play with this set for the June release and wanted to share the three cards I made. The two characters are so cute and fit perfectly behind the lemonade stand.
For the first card, I smooshed three colors of Distress Oxide inks - Ripe Pumpkin, Squeezed Lemonade, and Twisted Citron - onto glossy photo paper, creating multiple layers of color, drying between application. Then using a blending foam, I "buffed" the surface of the paper with Distress Micro Glaze. In some of the videos I've seen showing this technique, the glaze created a magical effect to the ink layers, but, probably because I am using photo paper and not glossy alcohol ink paper, the glaze simply removed some of the ink "fog", cleaning up the finished blend. This technique is fun and easy, so I definitely recommend experimenting with it.
I wanted to create a clean and simple card using only the fruit slices embossed on vellum over my glossy, inked panel. I happily have some fluorescent Zing embossing powders in my stash that perfectly matched my inked panel. So I simply embossed the slices over the color they would sit atop, adhered the vellum panel, and popped up the inked panel using foam tape onto my top-folding A2 sized card base. I selected the "You're Fresh" sentiment, stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black ink just below the panel and embellished the card with some sequins from the new Pink Lemonade shaker mix and Morning Dew Crystal Drops from Nuvo.
For the last two cards, I will simply share some pictures. The first is a fun summer scene with the lemonade stand, and the second is a tulle shaker card (one of my new favorite techniques).
