Kindred Stamps: Be Yourself

I'm sharing my May release projects with Kindred Stamps (affiliate links used throughout when available; thank you!), using their soon to release set Be Yourself.  I created a pair of non-card projects that I hope inspire you.

Supplies used:
Be Yourself (new)
Sentiment Strip Dies
Lunchbox (Miss Baker's Classroom) from SVGCuts

I colored the duo with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I must confess, coloring the big red panda wasn't easy.  One of my markers had gotten a bit dry and gunky, but I went with it.  My initial idea was to lay down a solid base layer with marker and then add shading and detail with pencil, since you can get finer lines with pencil lead.  Either way, I'm sure you will have fun coloring up these characters.

I couldn't resist adding this super fun-loving red panda onto an action wobbler (Amazon affl.) atop this large lunchbox.

For my next project, I created a mini Trapper Keeper folio.

Mini Trapper Keeper Folio
4.25" x 7.75"
Score along the 7.75" side at 4 3/8", 4 5/8"
Fold at the scores and then manually fold up the closing flap (this will allow enough room for the edge to tuck inside when the flap is closed)

A Velcro circle (Amazon affl.) was added to the flap to hold the folio closed.

To create the inner pocket:
3 1/8" x 4", score both 4" sides and bottom at 0.25"
Cut the bottom scored squares away to create the bottom flap, tuck under.
Fold in the sides and mark 1.5" down from one corner.  Then cut diagonally from the 4" top down to your mark at 2.5" (1.5" down) to create the diagonal pocket.  Glue pocket flaps down inside the front cover as seen above.

I tucked one of the pandas in the pocket along with some cut down notebook paper and added a sentiment to the pocket.  I intend to turn the panda into a planner clip.  I cut a 6" x 4" scrap of paper (the same paper from the lid of my lunchbox), scoring in half at 3".  Then I trimmed down notebook paper - 2.75" x 3.75" - folded in half and then stapled into the cover using a long reach stapler (this is the exact one I purchased, Amazon affiliate).  To hold the notebook in place, I created a belly band to slip the back cover through.  And that's it!

The entire Kindred Stamps release will be available this Friday at 8am PST/11am EST.
