I can't believe August is already here! Summer has flown by or, in our case, floated by (so much rain!). I am excited for you to see the beautiful Unicorn Pegasus images for HeartcraftPaper's August release!
I chose to use two of the images, Trying to Fly and Pegasus Prance, for my first card. I printed the images as shown on the card, adding the sentiment from Trying to Fly. I changed the sentiment color by playing with the color adjustments in my word processing program (what a fun change!). I colored my sweet images with Copic markers.

To break from the norm, I cut out the scene using a circle die from my stash and dry embossed the stitched clouds onto the panel. (I simply ran Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders dies through my Cuttlebug using a rubber embossing mat, NOT the cutting plate. The rubber mat pushes the die into your paper, embossing the design instead of cutting the design out.) To finish the sky, I lined up my cloud stencils (cut using the same Puffy Cloud Borders dies) with the embossed clouds and lightly dusted on distress ink in Broken China.
I cut down a top-folding card base using a circle die (I inadvertently grabbed the size down; I would have preferred to use the exact same size as my card front), making sure to overhang the circle ABOVE the fold of the card. That way I was able to retain a folding card AND a circle, as seen below. :)
I added a few sequins to the card front to finish the card. The card is still a one layer card with some wonderful added dimension. I hope you will play with dry embossing if you have not; it really is a great way to add interest!
