Get Kids Crafty is undergoing some big changes! Beth Duff Designs has decided to take GKC under its wing and help bring it new life. Hannah from Fanciful Spaces and I have decided to step back and see if the BDD/GKC team can keep it moving forward. So, for now, this will be my last Get Kids Crafty hop, but I will continue to craft with my kids and share any fun projects that we jump into. Remember to follow me on Instagram (@thefrolickingfairy).
The theme this month is Ocean! So, naturally, we played with creating abstract ocean backgrounds and incorporated the sweet Manatee Love stamp set newly released from Beth Duff Designs.
Using acrylic paints in blue, turquoise, and purple, my youngest daughter L painted a lovely abstract ocean. I love combining their work and my own! Very special collaborations! And trust me when I say, each of my daughters recognizes their artwork, so it is very special indeed!
My eldest daughter A picked out the images and sentiment, but would not color them. (shrug) So, I used a simple loose coloring technique on the images. It is fun and I do enjoy the way it looks. The wave pattern in the back was brushed on using Distress Ink in Salty Ocean with the Waves Mix-able Stencil from My Favorite Things. I cut a tag from L's ocean painting, added ribbon and the manatee. The plant and shell were accessory items chosen by A so on the card they went. :)
A scattering of Nuvo Crystal clear drops was added as bubbles from the manatee and around the sentiment for interest. Sometimes projects do not always go according to plan when working with young ones. But, that is ok!

I love this card! Crafting with kids never goes as planned! Haha! But it’s always beautiful in the end!
I love the card. I need to do some loose coloring. I have a hard time telling myself it looks good. I always love when others do it.
