Myself and fellow crafty genius Hannah, owner/creator/mastermind behind Fanciful Spaces, have decided to launch a fun new adventure encouraging you to craft with your kids! Beginning in November, Get Kids Crafty! Blog Hop will begin! Once a month, we will announce our hop theme and those blog hoppers will assist their kids in creating something fun and original, and totally their own design. But, wait for it, we will allow our kids to use OUR art supplies. Yes, our "please never touch that" Copics, and "stop playing with that" die cutting machines. Our kids LOVE to create. It is in their nature to explore and observe things in a way that is just so pure and innocent. And, the pride they feel when they get to use mom's "special crayons" as my eldest daughter referred to my Copics yesterday.
Our goal is to bridge that gap, and to bring our children into our spaces. Teach them the respect of our supplies, and open OUR minds to what they can bring to our creative processes.
We plan on selecting fun books in three age brackets (Under 3 years, 3-5 years, 5-8 years) that parents can find at their libraries to emphasize the theme of the hop and get their kids engaged in the fun. We will also share Pinterest ideas, or link to other blogs that have amazing crafty ideas. It is hard to think of ideas without some inspiration, so we hope to help plant that seed and see where it takes everyone!
Four times a year, once a season, we will host a submission challenge to accompany the Get Kids Crafty! blog hop. A loose theme will be given and your child's masterpiece will be submitted for everyone to enjoy! A winner will be selected randomly and awarded a prize!!
So, if you have children (preferably under the age of 8), are crafty, and have an active blog, we may want you to join us in this fun new venture! As the Get Kids Crafty! blog hop becomes more successful, we may hunt for more participants. At the moment, we are looking for 3 to 4 people who are on-board with our vision and are willing to unleash their child's craft genius on the world!
