I'm on the Gecko Galz blog today with projects following the challenge theme this month -- Floral Dreamland.

Both of my girls take dance classes so I made them each a wee mini album junk journal of sorts. A simple accordion fold, each section is 1.5" wide with a height of 3" tall. I cut my 3" strips of paper from a 12.5" sheet -- those that have the little extra bit on the top edge because they are either in a 12"x12" paper pad or have the company/collection name. These could easily be made in any length to suit your needs, just adhere an overlapped page/section to keep it growing!
For the closure, I added an eyelet in the 0.5" flap and then punched a wee hole in the back panel (the section right beside the wee flap). I tucked my twine through the punched hole, taped it to the inside back (being sure to add a bit of tape over the hole area for stability), and then hid this with my panel! I tied off a length of the same twine to the eyelet in the flap so the mini accordion album could be tied closed.
My eldest didn't wish to have her images inked, preferring a crisper look.
The "My Notes" sentiment on the front was typed with my typewriter onto a scrap of pain copy paper. The plain pages within the book, cut to 1.25" x 2.75", were also cut from plain copy paper. I didn't want to use bulkier paper in this wee book.
My little one loves the look of distressed images, so I inked up her image panels. She also helped select the background paper for the base of her album.
The possibilities are truly endless with this rather simple album design. One could create sturdier covers using scrap cardboard or chipboard and then glue the accordion pages within. The sizes are up to the creator, as are the number or pages. I hope you enjoyed my wee tutorial! I can't wait to see how you envision your own!
