Most of the incredible inspiration you'll see shows Fergus as, well, a gnome. Created as intended. But, I wanted to see if I could turn dear Fergus into a Fergie the Witch instead. I think she turned out rather cute. To create the head, I traced the large hat brim circle onto a skin-toned piece of felt. I gathered the edge, not pulling tight to create a sphere, but enough to give the face a rounded shape. I used both beard layers for the long hair and bangs. I used one of the smaller skin-toned circles for the hands to give Fergie a bit of a neck and decollete. For her lovely lace blouse, I used half of the spider web and a wee orange flower tucked behind her robe.

I chose to stitch the band on her hat with a diagonal stitch in a contrasting color and embellished the front with a spider web, flower, and a wee bat. To create her rosy cheeks and smile, I used my daughter's gel pens. They worked great! She definitely took a lot of time to create, but anything made with love does. xx
