I admit that I was unsure how much I liked Stamping Bella's newer collection, Oddballs, when I first saw them. I love Stamping Bella, and I thought the quirky expressions were cute but I was unsure how much I would actually use them. Well, I can admit when I am wrong. I adore these images. (You will definitely see more.) I colored up a duo of Day of the Dead Oddball from Stamping Bella for these two bookmarks from 7 Kids Crafting Supply Store.
I didn't record the Copic colors I used namely because this image is so versatile--you can use any wonderful combination of colors for her dress and flowers. For her sugar skull makeup and hair, I used all of my C tone Copic markers (C0-7) to create shadow and tone variation. For the flowers and her dress, I merely selected two color tones per color used since the areas are small. I used the sentiment that came with the set on both projects, cutting it (gasp! yes, I'm a stamp cutter) so I could position it horizontally with ease for the floral bookmark.
The Epic Planner (from 7 Kids) is my go-to planner and this sweet señorita is cut with my MAMBI disc punch so she can hold my place (or Mama Kelly's in this case). As I did with Pumpkin Patch Prue on my previous blog, I created a magnetic bookmark with our festive lady to clip over the planner insert or to be used alone. So the insert isn't lacking when our señorita is on another job, I stamped and embossed her onto the planner insert in white. For the floral bookmark, I simply cut a thin strip of red card for the sentiment, embossed in white, and glued onto the left side. Both the bookmark and planner insert were laminated.
