Like most paper crafters, I always have to put more effort into boy cards. I guess being a girl and having two daughters makes more feminine cards more natural. But I've had some fun practicing boy cards every month when I send out Fairy Tale Mail to my little boy subscriber. So, this card really just fell into place once I had the image colored and fussy cut out.
I used the incredibly adorable Skater Kids stamp set, an exclusive during Simon Says Stamps' STAMPtember release featuring one of my favorite stamp companies Mama Elephant. I had to hunt this set down after I saw it, and I am elated I was able to purchase! The images are mix and match -- a brilliant concept! You have animal heads with interchangeable bodies! So fun!
I chose the doggy head and striped pants for this card. I added the skateboard and flag, and colored him with Copic markers. I had a scrap of light grey cardstock laying in my pile, and thought it would be fun to cut on an angle for the skater dog to be rolling down. I inked a light cloudy sky using my handmade cloud stencil and Salted Ocean Distress Ink and Mustard Seed for a bit of sky between the clouds and road. I glued my grey piece and sentiment bubble flat to the card front, and added foam tape behind our little skater cutie. The movement lines were the perfect addition behind the board and that finished the card!
I made this for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes! You can find amazing inspiration and join the challenge HERE.
Thank you for joining me!! Until next time.. xo
