The humidity is up and so are the temperatures. While it is technically not yet summer, those of us in the southeast know that is truly just a technicality. I've been wanting to play with Kindred Stamps latest word dies and the most delicious pink embossing powder from Piece Craft Love (scroll below for a special discount treat too from their owner, Anna).
To begin, I dry embossed an inked (distress oxide applied to the stencil) Aloha Stencil onto a damp card panel and then inked the hibiscus flowers with Pink Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink. Then, I rubbed my embossing pad across the stencil and heat embossed the flowers with Lindy's Gang Embossing Powder in Razzleberry Plum from Piece Craft Love. In hindsight, this powder didn't need the inking beneath first. Some of Lindy's embossing powders are more translucent so to be safe I added the ink. If you've never used Lindy's powders, you are missing out. They have such incredible sheen and color shifting properties. I don't use them enough. I die cut the Aloha Craft Die shadow layer from the inked panel and triple stacked three aloha words and adhered to the open space within the beautiful background.
Anna, owner of Piece Craft Love, has so sweetly offered any of you readers a discount of 10% off your total order using code: FROLICKINGFAIRY10. I asked if she would provide one for the embossing powders, but she generously offered one for the entire shop!! She also offers free shipping on any order over $30. Super bonus!
